Since 1998, companies, unions, and organizations have employed no fewer than 10,000 lobbyists annually and spent between $1.44 billion and $3.5 billion per year persuading Congress and other federal agencies to favor them, according to opensecrets.org. With return on investment of up to 77,500%, it’s stunningly effective–as this infographic from unitedrepublic.org makes crystal clear.
