I’m taking the plunge and getting into Simplifive! And the SimpliFive challenge fits in perfectly with my current frame of mind. I’ve been on a purging quest to clear out my little apartment in hopes that I’ll be able to paint it while it’s still warm enough to open the windows. Here are a few of the things I’ve gotten rid of:
HP Deskjet 3475: I’ve had this printer, literally, since 2005. I also haven’t used it for the same amount of time. I kept thinking to myself, “Oh, what if I need to print something? It’s plug-and-play with my Mac, that’s really handy. I should keep it just in case.” But you know what? I’ve had access to printers at school or at work this whole time—and I haven’t had important things to print that couldn’t wait until I got to a printer. I can’t even use the e-ticket excuse anymore, since almost every airline I fly has mobile apps that include e-ticket QR codes. So goodbye, HP Deskjet! Thanks for always being Plan B.
Red Suede Banana Republic Bow Shoes. I bought these even though they were a half size too small for me, which is why they’ve spent most of the past eight years—yes, eight—in my shoe closet. I’ve held onto them so long because I love bows, I love red, and my feet look amazing in them. The reason I’m giving them away is because I can’t wear them for more than five minutes without rubbing parts of my foot raw. It’s just time to let go.
Five pound weights.I bought these thinking I was going to tone up. Cue laughter! They’re a little heavy for me, so I just let them sit around and gather dust. Better to get rid of them, and maybe look into 2 or 3 pound weights…
Postcard books. These were going to be last-minute gifts for when someone surprised me with a present for some reason and I hadn’t think to buy them anything. They’ve been hanging around my place for way too long.
Can of glow sticks. Perhaps the most random thing on my list—I bought them to take to a party and just forgot. And haven’t gotten around to taking them to any other parties.
