It was Sunday at the time.
“What the hell (hell), what the hell (hell), what the hell (hell), what the hell (hell), what the hell (hell), what the hell (hell), what the hell (hell), what the hell (hell), what the hell (hell), what the hell (hell), what the hell (hell), what the hell (hell),
It’s eight o’clock. And there is my alarm clock, RedBone’s “Come and Get Your Love.”
It was difficult for me to get out of bed, particularly on a Sunday morning. I despised my work. What I detested the most was having to work on weekends from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. (A 12-hour workday is common in Asia.)
I didn’t have enough time for myself, much alone for my family.
I was dissatisfied, underused, and unsatisfied.
But… it’s the only job I know how to earn a living at, and it’s a career I’ve studied for four years at university.
I had been dreading my alarm clock for almost three years.
Is it necessary for me to continue doing this for another 40 years?
I couldn’t tell who was staring back at me in the mirror, beyond the lifeless eyes. I couldn’t find my way.
I wasn’t sure what I was looking for. But I was aware of what was boring me to tears, and I resolved to alter it.
“Alter takes time, but you can change your path in the blink of an eye.”
So, with the help of my partner, I began studying the art of book publishing (now my husband). I’m using my day off and all of my free time to concentrate on my side project. So I reasoned, it was my only ticket out of the rat race.
I had no idea how to write. I was stumped for words. But, once I got started, it was a lot simpler than I had anticipated!
I haven’t thought of myself as a decent writer up until now. But, as part of the purpose for starting this blog, I attempt to practice the craft by writing at least 500 words every day.
For serious beginners, I’ve prepared an useful tutorial on how to establish a blog. If you want to create your own blog, click here to get started right now.
My first language is not English. And I never expected anybody to purchase and read my book. It never occurred to me that I might one day be a self-published novelist.
I released my first book in less than a month, and it immediately began to generate revenue, and I’ve never looked back.
Things have changed since then, which is wonderful, but the 6-figure business we’ve created via self-publishing books is probably the most unexpected. I’d also be able to leave my job and work full-time from home!
The moment I stopped trading happiness for money, that is when I began to live.
Our 500+ books are still selling on Amazon and producing passive revenue as you read this. We didn’t work because we had to, but because we wanted to.
For both writers and non-authors, self-publishing is one of the greatest and simplest business strategies.
1. It’s costless and simple to set up.
Unlike other companies or businesses, self-publishing is completely free.
There is no inventory, and there are no middlemen. All you need is an Internet connection.
I spent less than $30 to complete my first book, and I made $183 in the first month, a profit of almost 500 percent. I then re-invested the profits and continued to produce additional books.
It’s similar to a cash machine. How much would you invest if you knew it would nearly always provide a profit?
The Internet has significantly accelerated the publication of books.
Uploading your book to Amazon just takes a few minutes. In less than 24 hours, your book will be available for purchase.
In addition, self-published writers may now get monthly royalty payments.
Even after negotiating a contract with a publisher, conventional writers may have to wait weeks or months for their work to be published on the market and paid.
3. A reliable and scalable source of revenue
You may get 35-70 percent of the selling price for each book sold. It’s better than any conventional publishing contract, which may only pay out a 5-20% royalty.
The greatest thing is that there is no income cap. Every book you publish will increase your profit margins.
You’re not selling your time to develop other people’s businesses anymore.
You make more money the more you post.
4. Income from a passive source
You’ll need to put in some time at first to create your finest content—writing, editing, and creating a book cover, for example.
You may make passive money by selling it again and over after you’ve clicked the publish button.
Do you want to increase your book sales?
You have the ability to advertise and promote them. Here are 40 ideas for successfully promoting and marketing your book.
5. Possessing Creative Control
Self-publishing, unlike conventional publishing, gives writers complete control over the creative, marketing, and sales processes.
You have complete control over your book’s title, cover design, and price. You don’t need permission from anybody else to write.
You are free to work at your own speed without having to adhere to any deadlines or requirements.
You control your copyright and all rights to your book if you self-publish.
7. The world market
Anyone can immediately start selling any book they choose to millions of people across the globe with the press of a mouse.
8. Make a lasting impression
I never realized that, in addition to earning money, self-publishing enables us to leave a legacy, share our expertise, and create a company.
For instance, I assisted my father-in-law in self-publishing his first health book, in which he discusses his personal experience as well as his little-known treatment for heart palpitation and irregular skipped beats. He believes that by sharing his own story, others who are suffering from cardiac issues may be able to do the same.
Every single one of us has a unique tale to tell and a small secret to reveal to the rest of the world.
You can look beyond the profits if you understand that.
