The online video platform YouTube has been the go-to place for people to make money on their hobby. But how can you get started with a career in this field? Q:
The how to become a youtuber and get paid is a blog that discusses how to become a youtuber in 2021. It has 5 steps that will help you achieve your goal. Q:
I’ve always fantasized of being a YouTuber.
That’s why, on January 1, 2019, I launched my own YouTube account and posted my first video.
Thanks to my experience and abilities as an SEO specialist, I was able to develop that channel from 0 to 1,000 members in 1 month and 12 days.
However, that experience taught me a lot about being a YouTuber.
I believe that publishing an article for people interested in becoming YouTubers will assist them in preparing for what is to come.
Let’s just say that being a YouTuber isn’t as simple as you would assume.
I want to make sure you don’t make the same errors I made, so relax and enjoy the show. Let’s get this party started.
1) Double-check that this is exactly what you want.
Are you serious about becoming a YouTuber?
It’s easy to notice all of the positive things that popular YouTubers demonstrate, but there’s more to it.
Before earning any money from this, these internet superstars had to put in days, months, and even years of effort.
These YouTube millionaires didn’t start making videos for the money; they did it because they loved it.
The truth is that unless you like producing material, you will not be able to keep up with it.
I know because I’ve been there.
That’s great since I was able to build my channel very quickly—probably quicker than 99 percent of new YouTubers.
But, unfortunately, I’ve discovered that I don’t like making those kind of films as much as I had hoped.
The same scenario may happen to you, so think about why you want to establish a YouTube channel in the first place.
If any of the following apply to you, you were not meant for YouTube:
- You want your videos to be renowned all over the globe.
- You are just interested in earning money on YouTube.
- You are unwilling to put in long hours of labor without being compensated for it.
In my situation, I felt I’d be content if I could earn just enough money from producing videos and playing video games to pay my living costs.
Unfortunately, having to play the same game all day became boring for me.
I didn’t like video games since I had to amuse people the whole time I was playing while also making sure I didn’t have any recording issues.
I want to hit play, sit back, and unwind… yet producing videos has made it even more hectic.
I like playing video games, but I don’t seem to enjoy writing about them.
The same thing might happen to you, so be sure you’re doing it for the correct reasons.
If any of the following apply to you, you were created for YouTube:
- You love assisting people and providing free advise.
- You like making videos for fun.
- The prospect of forming a community and meeting new individuals every day excites you.
You don’t join YouTube in order to earn money. There are many more efficient methods of earning money than establishing a YouTube channel.
That’s why you should be certain that you’re on the correct track. You must have a clear idea of what you desire.
That’s the first step.

2) Select Your Channel’s Topic
If you want to be a successful YouTuber this year, you’ll need to choose a specialty.
A niche is a group of individuals who have a similar interest or are seeking to meet the same requirements.
Here are some examples of specialized markets:
However, concentrating on a very narrow niche is the true key to success on YouTube.
You should go deeper and narrow down even more than the niches listed above since they are much too wide and competitive.
It’s like zooming in and looking for the little niches that exist inside each larger specialty.
Consider the following scenario:
3rd level niche (Target these)
Makeup looks used by celebrities
New football players’ training
Tutorials for heavy metal songs
These samples should hopefully give you a sense of what you should be aiming towards.
The key is to pick a topic that you’d want to speak about and for which you can generate adequate material.
This does not exclude you from discussing other topics. You can also do the following actions:
- Begin with a niche that is extremely specialized.
- Make as many videos as you can, covering every element of it.
- Expand into a related market.
But, Will, I’d want to make vlogs about my life; where can I discover a niche for that?
That’s why I don’t suggest beginning a vlogging channel straight immediately.
You need to get people to watch your videos, and the only way to accomplish so is to provide value to them.
Make tutorials, inspire people, or educate them about a topic they need assistance with to draw people in.
They’ll want to know more about you after hearing a lot from you and getting to know you.
When people start caring about it, that’s when you may start making vlogs about your everyday life.
People are only interested in your life if they know who you are or if your life is very strange to them.
There is, however, a workaround.
You may still film vlogs in the beginning if you’re also educating anything via your videos.
For example, I’ve observed individuals searching for excellent real estate investments while strolling around the city.
This kind of vlog is very beneficial to individuals who are just getting started in the business.
You may also use your vlogs to motivate individuals who are interested in particular topics.
Simply make it obvious in the title of your video what you’re going to offer or educate folks.
The goal isn’t to create a vlog about your life since your life isn’t nearly as fascinating to others as you may believe.
It may come off as harsh, but that’s simply who we are.
If you want to expand, you must offer something useful free and make people WANT to subscribe to you.
3) Get Ready
Now is the time to start thinking about your gear.
You’ll need the following items to get started:
The latter two are arguably the most significant of the three.
Most beginners believe that to capture high quality video, they would need to invest hundreds of dollars on a camera.
The reality is that you may begin with the camera on your phone.
In fact, I suggest doing so since it allows you to test the waters and determine whether you like video recording before investing money.
You can make Full HD video that looks good enough for YouTube by combining a competent phone camera with excellent lighting.
Simply purchase a tripod for your camera and begin shooting videos.
You should consider the additional equipment you’ll need.
If you’re just getting started with videography, the first thing you’ll overlook is lighting.
A $3,000 camera will seem to be $50 with poor illumination.
The reason for this is that cameras need much more light than humans to “see” and record quality pictures.
Here’s a link to an article I wrote on the optimum lighting for YouTube videos.
In general, if you have a bright house and shoot during the day, you should be OK, but having a lighting kit will enable you to record in any natural light situation.
Also, lighting kits are very inexpensive on Amazon—-much less so than a decent camera.
4) Begin recording and rehearsing.
So now that you know your specialty and have your tools, you can start searching for video topics.
What can you educate others in your field?
Start making useful movies and don’t worry about perfection at first.
When you’re just starting out, all you should do is practice talking to a camera.
It will feel strange at first, but you will gradually get more adept at it.
If you’re having trouble, remember that no one is born with excellent camera presence.
I was awful at first, and it was very embarrassing, but you grow accustomed to it.
Also, make sure that you record vlogs securely and in accordance with any applicable laws in your country.
You’ll also want to begin honing your editing and thumbnail design abilities.
You will learn these two facts one way or another.
I suggest that you start searching YouTube for editing instructions.
There’s also a list of excellent video editing software on this page.
Filmora is something I typically suggest to novice artists. Because it’s designed for non-professional editors, it’s extremely simple to use.
If you have an Apple computer, though, you may use iMovie, which is free.
You’ll quickly realize that editing takes a long time. This is typical; most YouTubers devote much more time to editing than to filming.
This is when things start to seem like a slog, and you’ll find out whether you want to stick with it in the long term.
Design of Thumbnails
To run a successful YouTube channel, you’ll need some basic design abilities.
Fortunately, anybody can pick it up fast.
You may create attractive thumbnails for your movies using a website like Canva.
Photoshop allows you to create more professional thumbnails, but it’s a paid application that needs more sophisticated design abilities.
Canva is the less expensive option, and it’s what most YouTubers use before hiring a designer or learning Photoshop.
The ability to regularly post material is the most important prerequisite for growing a YouTube channel.
How frequently do you do it?
Publish at least one video each week.
To be clear, this is the very least!
At least three videos each week should be your goal.
The more you do it, the quicker your “YouTuber talents” will develop, and the more views you’ll receive.
The frequency with which you post material is very important to the YouTube algorithm.
As a result, not only will you get more experience, but the algorithm will also push your channel to a larger audience.
5) Understand YouTube SEO.
If you want to build your YouTube channel, you’ll need to figure out what works and what doesn’t.
What is YouTube SEO and how does it work?
Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the process of making your material more discoverable by search engines and the individuals who use them to find information.
Keep in mind that YouTube is a video search engine that allows users to find and view videos.
The YouTube algorithm determines whether videos are worthy of being recommended to visitors to the site.
You may make the algorithm your greatest friend or your deadliest adversary.
You should truly understand how YouTube chooses what material to promote on their site and tailor your films to that.
What you should know is this:
- How to title your movies to get more people to watch them
- How to get more likes and comments on your videos
- Use the appropriate number of tags to avoid confusing the algorithm.
- How to Increase CTR by Using Thumbnails
- How do you get more people to view your videos?
- There’s much more…
Use VidIq to assist you with this. It’s a free Chrome plugin that will assist you in optimizing your SEO.
You’ll acquire thousands of new visitors while you sleep if you know what works and what doesn’t.
You must first choose whether or not you want to become a YouTuber for the correct reasons, or you will waste a lot of time.
You’re not in it for the money or the celebrity; you’re in it for the enjoyment.
You won’t go far if you don’t do this properly.
After that, you may begin to consider what you want to discuss in your videos.
Create your topic precise, and then start preparing all of the videos you can make around it.
Assist others in achieving their goals, solving difficulties, or becoming inspired. This is how you’ll bring in new viewers and convert them into subscribers.
Prepare to begin recording with the proper equipment; keep in mind that your camera is not the most essential piece of equipment you’ll need. The most significant differences will be in the microphone and illumination.
Spending a lot of money on equipment in the start is not a good idea.
Start studying more about YouTube SEO and upgrading your equipment after you’ve started filming and gotten better at producing excellent videos and you know you’ll like it for a long time.
When you use this information, YouTube will automatically suggest your videos to more people.
The more people that see your video, the more fans you’ll get and the more money you’ll make.
If you choose, you’ll eventually be able to make it a full-time job.
